Evidence/FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions...

Why are your prices so high?

Eating grain free means using whole food ingredients that are high in nutrition and, unfortunately, expensive.  We are working hard to source our ingredients from companies that both certify that they are gluten free and are sold in bulk quantities.  We will pass these savings on to you.  Also, those of you that have tried our cookies and loaves probably have noticed that you feel full after one cookie or slice of loaf.  That’s because the ingredients are high in fiber, protein and healthy fats, so they go a long way.  There’s a reason we can all eat enormous amounts of processed junk food.   Manufacturers make sure that our brains never get the “full” signal by making their products “hyper palatable” and we get fat and sick from eating these pseudo foods.

I see gluten free treats in grocery stores for much cheaper. What’s different about grain free goodies?

“Gluten Free” does NOT mean healthy.  Most gluten free “food” offered in mixes or in precooked processed forms is junk food  full of starches, hydrogenated fats and tons of sugar.  Our kitchen works hard on recipes that use the healthiest ingredients.  Good olive oil, real butter, ground almonds, organic vegetables, omega 3 eggs, high quality honey, molasses, coconut sugar and much more, all organic and nothing processed.  We bake what we eat ourselves in our own pursuit of good health and fitness.

I’ve read that I shouldn’t be eating any “treats” and to concentrate instead on vegetables and meat.

It is important to remember that our baked goodies are to be enjoyed as treats.  They have their place inside a healthy diet.  Our intention is to help our customers enjoy a treat that is still nutritious and that helps them enjoy celebrations, holidays, traditions and special meals.  We all know that food is more than just nutrition transfer.  Food is an intricate component in family culture.  “Breaking bread” with someone is a way of connecting.  We are committed to helping our customers enjoy these special times and traditions without sacrificing their health.
